1.1Explain the advantages and disadvantages of Learning in a group.

This assignment is a group work (learning in a group) in which we are five in the group to plan a treat for clients of our choice in a power point presentation. The treat needs to be appropriate for all clients, duration between 3 – 4 hours, cost effective and safety. A team can be defined as a group of people working together towards a particular goal and objective for a period of time. Hollp L (1999:3). Groups are important of social part of life. There can be a small group of two people and a large group. According to Mills T (1967:2) It is made up of two or more people who come together for a purpose and considers it meaningful as to Kurt Lewin (1948:165) who wrote that it is not similarity or dissimilarity of individuals that constitutes a group but interdependence of fate. In this case, groups come together with the belief that psychologically they are in the same boat. (Brown 1988:28). However there are some benefits and problems associated with group work. The advantages of team work related to my group are firstly, we were able to develop a sense of identity and belonging which is associated with the theory of (Brown 1988:28), all working together for the same goal and aim to bring out a good end result. We were able to see it as a gathering of sharing thoughts, ideas, and problems
