Portfolio Reflection Journal

Starting a new life in university is totally different from a high school one. There are so many problems I have to face included the using of English language, communication, and other problems with my courses. Here, I am required to do various assignments, participate in every class activity, and also practice the portfolio. Now, I am required to do the portfolio for Economics course. The first time I heard of this, I was so nervous because I did not know what to do. Nevertheless, I still tried to do it because my grade is depended on my effort. Therefore, since I had prepared for Economics portfolio, I faced so many difficulties. However, there were also some good solutions that had been used to solve these problems and I have learnt many things from this experience.

Actually, Mr.Iskandar, the instructor of my Economics course asked the students to do the portfolio as the team and each team must had four or five members. Firstly, I found it hard to find a team because I did not keep in touch closely with my classmates. I was afraid to ask them that I want to create a team. It was probably because I was not brave enough to talk to them. It took some time until I found one. Another problem after having a team was everybody wanted me to be a leader, whereas I did not actually want to. As a natural personality, I like working independently, and I thought it is hard to manage someone. However, at the last, I was nonetheless voted to be the leader. Furthermore, after the decision in choosing a topic about SCARCITY, it was absolutely difficult for our whole team to start working with it. Even if, we had learnt this topic in the textbook, we did not understand clearly about the key concepts, and that was the reason why we needed to do the research and had the group discussion together....
