example of reflective essay 2
In Writing for General Communication subject, the lecture told us to write an essay. The essay was in the form of procedure text. The requirement was just; the word count was between six hundred and eight hundred. I was confused what topic would I choose. At first I wanted to try making procedure of food but then I thought it would be too simple so at the end I chose about how to live a healthy lifestyle.
While I made the essay, I made some point about what was the important thing to live a healthy lifestyle. So I decided to focus on three things, those are food, sleeping and exercising. Then I made the procedure based on the three things above. I got stuck in word count five hundred and I did not know what else to put in my writing. I felt that I already wrote everything I knew about how to live a healthy lifestyle. I was a bit anxious. I thought hard to find another thing that I can use in my writing. I kept trying to add another thing that had a connection with the text that I already wrote. After a while, I managed to reach six hundred words and finally finished it.
When my essay was finished, I felt glad. But at the same time, I felt worry. I was afraid that my writing would be a bit irrelevant. But I tried my hardest to write the essay, I also checked and read it for several times so I had confident. I also wrote procedure text before with my friend so I thought I would not make many mistakes. That was why I thought to myself that I had to believe in my writing.

When writing an essay there really is more to it than just writing words down and making sure the words is used correctly. When someone is having thoughts they need to write them down and just go from there. At first it may not be perfect, but the writer can always go back and change the errors that need to be fixed. Before reading this I figured it was going to be about bad writing and one should not worry if it is not perfect. This made me realize that it is not about how you write, but what you write about and how to get your thoughts across.…

What I need to do to improve and how I plan to do this: In future, instead of getting paralysis, or worrying that what I am writing about is not valid, I need to use what knowledge I have, back it up with theory and be confident that this is what’s needed. After reading “The Writing Process” in chapter 2, I learned the major aspects to writing a well-developed essay. The methods in developing an essay are: finding a focus, developing a thesis statement, drafting, and editing. Firstly, finding a focus plays a crucial part because when there are many ideas in mind people tend to have trouble focusing on one topic. After settling on a topic, the next step would be to create a thesis statement. The thesis is a statement that relates to all the ideas and the essay should be centered on the statement. Likewise, drafting brings in a lot of ideas for a paper. Drafting essays allows plenty of editing time. While editing essays, one might come across grammatical errors. Identifying errors and correcting them will make the essays sharp and to the point.…

My journey to become a Counselling Psychologist began in 2008 when as a Life Coach; I had a self referral who suffered from anxiety over his forthcoming exams in his second year at university. I started collaboratively setting goals to manage his workload and set timetable into manageable chunks through asking him challenging questions so that e can start to think for himself. He had plenty of resources namely his family, time, books but he just would not settle into coaching which left me feeling I was inadequate as a Life Coach and started to doubt whether he could manage at all. As a life Coach I didn’t have a supervisor so had no one to maul this situation over with.…
