The advantages of texting versus calling Text messaging is being used by more and more people in the world today. Text messaging is silent communication between two people. Text messaging serves the purpose of easy communication that can be accessible even within time constraints. There are several advantages that have led to the popularity of text messaging services over traditional methods of communication through phone calls. Often times, text messaging offers a more convenient method of communicating over verbal phone calls.
In the recent past, people usually used mobile phones to talk to each other. But nowadays we rarely see these instances. Instead we see a lot of people typing messages on those tiny keypads, using their mobile phones to send text messages. The majority of today’s mobile phone users have become texters. One big advantage that everyone likes is that text messaging is one of the cheapest and fastest ways of communicating with people around the world. For example if you have to tell something to someone, but you don’t want to interrupt them with a phone call, you can text them and they can look at it when they have a chance.
The term SMS is another term for Short Message Service. It refers to the means of written communication by means of a mobile phone. Text messaging allows mobile users to communicate privately without being heard by others. Sending an SMS messages is also a lot faster than composing e-mails. In addition it is very convenient because one does not need a computer, unlike instant messaging and e-mailing. Another advantage of text messaging is that whenever a text message is sent to a mobile phone, the message is stored in the SMSC. This means that even if the mobile phone is off or is unavailable, the message will still be received soon as the mobile phone is turned on or has a signal.
