Executive Summary
The company Mahindra and Mahindra Swaraj Tractor Division is going through a slow transition as a result of its takeover by M&M from Punjab Tractors Limited. Though the people at the top management remain the same but there are clear indications of slow changes in personnel policies of the company. Thus at this juncture it is highly important for the company to know what is the level of satisfaction of its employees to ensure it goes through a smooth and hassle-free transition. Thus the project of evaluation of employee satisfaction was highly important and useful for the company at this juncture. To check the level of employee satisfaction of the company, first the data about the different departments on shop floor and the workers working there was collected. After this a questionnaire was formulated keeping in mind what factors are important for a worker to be satisfied with the employer. The questionnaire was then presented to the workers one by one. Some of the workers were highly interested in the process and readily filled the questionnaire themselves, while some of the others showed mild interest and just answered the questions orally and thus the questionnaire forms were then filled by the interviewer in such cases on the basis of answers given by them. The sample consisted of almost half of the total employees working on the shop floor. Along with the answers to the questions, some other problems which the workers stated were also noted down in their respective forms.

Objectives of the study:
To evaluate the level of job satisfaction among the workers in the shop floor. •Application of the proper tools to analyze the finding of the survey. •Suggesting the relevant methods to improve the satisfaction level among the workers.
