1.0 ABSTRACT
The main objective of this paper is to establish the extent to which learner support help learners to perform better in their examinations. The various ways of improving learner support to increase its effectiveness and the challenges they face which hampers their productivity.   The results of both JC and BGCSE will be analyzed for both BOCODOL and government schools and the findings will help determine   the level of effectiveness of BOCODOL learner support in improving the performance of the learners .This will be shown by continuous outstanding performance of BOCODOL learners over a certain period of time, even when compared to government schools. This study will help find out if BOCODOL students have been progressively performing well in the school equivalency. If the performance has been poor then learner support can be assessed and encourage to improve its operations in order to help the students to perform better. The methods used to accomplish the objectives of the studying involve quantitative methods, where the results of BGCSE and JC for BOCODOL and private schools were captured and analyzed and compared with each other. The results were randomly sampled from various years in   academic years 0f 2001 to 2009.The qualitative method was also used where the questionnaire   was made and sent to all   five Regional centres   including various members of BOCODOL officers and learner support   officers .
