Ethical Theories
Throughout the semester we have discussed many different types of ethical theories. They all have very different views and meanings. They contradict one another, and very often contradict themselves. After doing some thorough research I have found that there are not many theories I agree with. There are some that I agree with a few points it makes, and others that I disagree with completely. I will explain in the essay what I believe and what I have found, and why the research and what you have taught has convinced me to believe that certain way.
Human Rights Ethics can be understood as a set of acknowledged principles of international law such as prohibition or genocide. It is the ethics of discussion, open society, and the United Nations. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was drafted by the UN Commission on Human Rights in 1947 and 1948. The Declaration was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948. Among other human rights, this declaration enunciates certain fundamental human rights of every human. They are the rights to security of person, to freedom from torture and other cruel and unusual treatment, and to privacy. Motherhood and childhood have a right to special protection. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights contains a Preamble with 30 Articles of rights. A few examples of the Declaration are as follows: Article one explains that all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. Article two states that everyone is entitled to the same rights, no matter their color, sex, ethnicity, and so on. Article 7 says that everyone is equal before the law. Article 18 says everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion. This is just a brief overview of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
