Ethical Dilemma:
Moral Philosophy
    Do you always do what’s right, even when no one is looking?   What if your decisions/choices couldn’t hurt anyone, would that change your mind?   Every day we are faced with choices and the decisions made from those choices effect someone no matter how un-intentional they appeared to be.   In our example for analysis a professor chose to make copies of copyrighted material without permission and we are to answer whether or not we believe he acted right.   I say no, I do not believe he made the right choice, because he was not authorized to reproduce the article and he is guilty of copyright infringement.
    The professor may not have had time to request authorization to make copies of the material that he was teaching his students, but there were other options available to him instead of breaking a law.   Using the cared-based principle theory the professor is setting a bad example for his students.   If he can get away with making copies of copyrighted material illegally then his students should be able to get away with plagiarism.   The professor did not have to make copies of the article, he could have read the article to the class as an example and/or reinforcement of what the textbook chapter was about.  
    In applying the end-based principle theory I feel the professor weighed his options and for whatever reason felt that the article would really pull his assignment together.   He might have thought that with another example the students would understand faster because the reading was dry and/or complicated.   The professor did not have the funds or time to proceed through the proper channels with his request.   In making the copies he has accepted that if he gets caught he will suffer the consequences because his lecture and students understanding of the material at hand are far more important to him.   As an alternative the professor could have tried to integrate a story into the lecture, provide them with examples,...
