Some Anglo Americans are against any type of ethnic preservation when Hispanic/Latinos participate in North American society. The United States is seen as an assimilation society with pluralistic exceptions (Schaefer, 2006). This is untrue this group is a major part of society within the United States.
It is stated that some Americans are concerned about the issue of language barriers. This concern in one instance may be necessary. Many countries require a primary language to function. The idea that the United States primary language is being usurped and ignored is what angers some citizens. Fear does not need attention planning and action needs attention. The current assertion is that a student is not considered proficient or successful until they are able to speak English. Spanish speaking Americans however believe it is possible to keep the culture and language of the homeland intact while functioning successfully within Anglo society.
Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, and Central South American natives are considered separate nationalities. While participating in the United States culture some Hispanic speaking nationalities band together because of similarities. This is called Pan ethnicity. The same way British person and an American may band together in a foreign Asian country. It has been determined that One Trillion dollars in sales
