Complete the following using the MySocLab Social Explorer Map: Income Inequality by Race (located on the student website) as a reference:

• Select 1 racial group from the list below:

o African American
o Asian American
o Arab American
o Hispanic American/Latino
o White/Caucasian

• Write a 150- to 300-word summary of the economic, social, and political standings of that group. Use additional resources if necessary, from the University Library or your textbooks. Provide citations for all the sources you use. I chose the African American groups. Depending on the up bringing of one particular person is depending on how a person has decided to live their life. There are less African Americans that have decided to go into to politics. How ever there are a few that have made it in the political world. For example is our president B. Obama. Who is a very successful balck man. African Americans are more populated than the Asian, Arab, and Hispanic americans. You hear more of the African Amercian population living in proverty than other races. Some people when they hear a black man or woman they automatically think the projects, or lower income families. Some will also think drug dealer or so on. Part II

Racism is the practice of treating people well or poorly based on their race. Racists tend to treat members of their own race relatively well and members of other races less well. Racism hinders or even prevents diversity by keeping people of other races away from one's country or province or town or even street.
