Violence occurs everyday and everywhere, though the crime might not be as extreme as others, the fact is that it happens, no matter how hard people try to prevent it from happening. There are many crimes that people can commit, whether it is to other people or to property that belongs to others. Being a victim of any crime can be a scary thing, especially if it’s a violent crime towards oneself. Also finding damaged property whether it is your home, car or anything that belongs to you can be very disheartening and upsetting. Because violence and crime can cause so much pain and hurt to people it shouldn’t be committed at all, yet there are always those people who enjoy delivering pain and misery to people by different means, whether it be, assault, vandalism, sexual assault or even stalking. These days everyone has to be careful about where you go, what you do and whom you do it with.
In a time where technology is really easy to access and when the Internet has every detail about our lives, either on social websites or just researching it is really easy to learn about someone. And sometimes when we make friends or acquaintances and do not know too much about them, there is a chance that person can become a potential stalker. A stalker is someone who becomes obsessed with you and can follow you around, “A stalker can be someone you know well or not at all. Most have dated or been involved with the people they stalk. Most stalking cases involve men stalking women, but men do stalk men, women do stalk women, and women do stalk men.” So it is not always men following women like we see in movies and TV shows, there are many variations to it that some people do not understand.
