JPOs’, and Junior Experts, ability to perform their functions effectively in the country and organisation of service increased. At the end of the course it is expected that participants will have acquired: Improved understanding of the UN system, Danish relations to the multilateral aid system and the role of the JPO Enhanced communication skills and practical tools for improved intercultural and interpersonal dialogue Increased knowledge of key personal matters of relevance for overseas posting.
The course is Danida’s part of the preparation of Junior Professional Officers and -Experts. Some minor assignments can be expected prior to, and during the course, as well as reading-up of documents. The organisations of assignment (UN, WB, EU etc.) normally offer additional organisation specific briefing and training programmes in the beginning of the assignment. The course contents falls under three main headings or themes, each comprising of different subjects. The course includes a mix of short presentations, cases/exercises in sub-groups, plenary discussions and role plays.
