The ultimate success or failure of a paper may often be traced back to the planning stages. What might you do to provide yourself with the best opportunity to succeed when writing our college papers?

Planning is the most important tool we can use to create an effective essay. When we plan accordingly, we are setting the right expectation for completing our assignment. We take the time to create an effective outline and use it. We have the opportunity to brainstorm supporting paragraphs that will support our thesis statement. We can then start the investigation process of providing supporting points to persuade the reader towards our thesis statement. Time management must be incorporating into our plan. By breaking down each week and then map out each day with goals, we are setting ourselves up for success! We know what is expected of our time each day to reach our final goal of an effective essay. If we don’t plan our time accordingly, we ultimately won’t be successful and failure is inevitable. We owe it to ourselves to provide ourselves with the best opportunity possible to be successful. Using our planning strategies and techniques, we will succeed!

Ch. 5 explains how to write an effective thesis statement. Explain two key ideas you learned in the reading this week which will assist you in writing an effective thesis statement.

What steps are included in the prewriting phase of essay writing? How does prewriting affect the success of an essay?
The steps that one should take when in the prewriting stage of an essay are important to do and follow so that the essay is done properly. When you begin, schedule your time to get it done in.
