Recollecting Childhood Memories
I went through my childhood with more happy memories than sad ones. Unfortunately, the dramatic and sad experiences stand out more in my memory bank. However among my childhood memories I remember a certain experience. back in my native place when I was a child of about six years age. My dad had promised me that if I finish my homework early for the day, he would take me to the exhibition. Back at that time exhibitions were rare in our city, and it only happened once or twice in a year. So, I was really excited and pumped up to go. After I did all of my work, I waited patiently for my dad to come home from work. Minutes felt like hours and finally he arrived from work. By seeing the excitement in my face, he knew that I have done everything that he wanted me to do. My dad kept his word and took me to the exhibition.

Because our city was pretty small, exhibition was a huge event for the people of our city. People from near and outside of the city come here to enjoy and have a great time. It was my first time to the naval exhibition or rather to any exhibition and I was really happy that my parents were with me. At that time, there was a large crowd at the place. Even though the exhibition happens only once or twice, I never expected such a large gathering. I being a six year old had never seen such a large gathering at one place. In fact before getting into the exhibition my dad said to me, I love

When I first starting planning out the trip to down town to visit the museum I thought it would go actually the way I planned it. The plan was to wake up on Sunday make sure I wore enough layers of clothing because I am always cold; get on the train and go. Well it was a bit more complicated than that. I woke up later than I expected but still had fun waiting at the train station with my boyfriend. Also I did not wear proper shoes because when I started driving off it started raining, but my car is an endless closet so I found some shoes that were not going to soak through when I hit the first big puddle in Chicago. On the train ride I started calculating what I wanted to see and in what order, but I did not consider that my boyfriend would want to see something else and that we have different taste. This of course was a problem when we got there. So when we started walking down the couple of blocks that would get us to the museum from Union Station, I knew there would be bums, but they decided that Sunday was the best day to come out. On the way there we got asked by more than five bums if we could make a donation so that they can help the homeless shelters to support them. They especially liked the area right in front of the museum so it was hard not to make contact with them. However once inside I did not expect the museum to be so large because on the outside it honestly looked smaller. The lady at the front desk was nice enough to give us student discounts even though neither of us had our student IDs, and my boyfriend was finally happy that he can dry off his feet, unlike me he did not think about carrying around boots with him.…

My family and I went on a trip. It was me, Danesa is my youngest sister, Todd is my dad, and Renee is my dad’s girlfriend. First we went to Omaha to get a car. Then we drove for hours on hours to about 100 miles from the Hall Of Fame. We stopped and got some sleep for the night because it was so dark out. Then the next morning I was so excited because I was going to see the Hall Of Fame in person. We got to the Hall Of Fame and it was packed like people waiting outside to get and it was so hot outside. It was like $30 per kid, but the parents were like double that. It so cool inside of it because I got to see Jim Thorpe “The Legend” that's what it says on the statue inside of the build. I saw a lot of jerseys and helmets…

When I first arrived to the festival, i was unsure if i would enjoy the event or not, because I am not a fan of art in any way. Me and my friends parked outside of the event so we spent about 10 minutes walking there. It was about 11 pm and the streets were pretty crowded with people. We continued walking towards the event and we saw the first sculpture. It was a big, bright elephant with a rainbow of colours on it. There was a large amount of people smiling and taking pictures. After observing this sculpture, we continued our journey. After entering the area of the event, the…

On November 9th, 2013, St. Josephs College hosted a field trip into New York City. The purpose of this field trip was to transport us into the city, and have the students visit a major art museum. There were a few different choices, the students had, but most went straight to the Metropolitan Museum of Art because the admission to the museum was whatever you want to contribute. However, we took a different approach. My friend and I went straight to The Museum of Modern Art, also known as the MOMA. I looked briefly the night before at each museum to get a feel for what I wanted to see, and what I did not. Once I saw this artist was at the MOMA, that’s when I knew I wanted…

Although all the art exhibits were simply amazing the one that stood out the most to be was Where the Fate Leads Us by Brenda Atwood Pinardi and Candance Walters. I feel as if this one caught my eye for a numerous of reasons, one being that it was the most original one there in my opinion. This art was not like the simple oil and pastel painting I was expecting to see; instead it was actual material constructed together to give off a certain message to those who viewed it.…

As a small child I was a big fan of Disney World and Disneyland. I spent several summers at each amusement park with my godparents. My parents surprised me with a special trip. We drove 6 hours to see the Neuschwanstein castle. It was very early in the morning and extremely cold. The castle is built on the top of a mountain. There were two options for getting up the mountain to see the castle, walking or by horse drawn carriage. We took the carriage in hopes that it would be slightly…

I decided to attend a show at a local dinner theatre, called the Alhambra Dinner Theatre, in Jacksonville, FL. My decision to do this was based on the fact that I never really allow myself to look into my artistic side as I commonly turn down attending art festivals, theatre performances, or listening to classical music.…

The exhibit I enjoyed the most was the display that shows Auschwitz- Burkenau, the largest concentration camp in Germany. This attracted me because it was sickening how many innocent lives were taken by the Nazi and how long it took to be taken down. Auschwitz had so much land and most the space was occupied by decaying bodies. Surrounding this exhibit was the clothes the prisoners would have to wear, and it brings tears to your eyes when you realized how worn out their bodies must have been that some victims could barely hold their back straight because their shirt was too heavy for them. It gave me an all new respect for these victims.…

During my visit at The Dallas Museum of Art I came to know that I had stepped into a building with a world of its own. When I was entering to my first exhibit I was, honestly, mildly amused. I see the rooms were filled with artwork decorating the walls I could not locate a painting that would seize my attention until I walked through the door and into another part of the exhibit. In this room I saw a painting that just ravished my senses, but to me this would be a regular occurrence for the duration of my visit. Walking through the different exhibits was captivating, with some causing me to feel deep emotion in just observing them. The sculptures were amazing and I was trying to pay a close attention to see the details of the artworks.…

It was the summer before my freshman year of high school; my dad had plans to spend a week in the Bahamas for work. He decided that it would be a good opportunity to bring my older sister and me along with him and my mom. My dad has always felt it was important for me and my sister to experience different cultures and he would also plan for us to see lots of attractions after his work day was completed. The Bahamas was beautiful and more than I could ever imagine. The scenery, the art, and the food and people were all amazed and bemused me at the same time. Even after days of adventures the most memorable thing for me happened on our last day.…
