Summer

Summer

Hot or cold, what could it be?
Summer is here just look and see
It's not winter or autumn here
Summer is something we shouldn't fear

Summer is out and it's time to play
Have fun because summer is not here to stay
Jump in the pool and play all day
Let's come on out and head for the bay

Summer time is once a year
Come on out without any fear
Plant some flowers for a summer day
As long as summer is here to stay

ANALYSIS
I think that the way that this poem is written shows you a lot of how a poem should be written correctly.
This is about summer and its mostly about things you can do in summer time.
The paragraphs are a little long and a bit more repeatedly about when and what things and stuff of summer.
The writing of the poem is very casual.

A Good-Bye & A Hello
Good-Bye sweet, sweet summer, must you always go away?
Oh how I shall miss your short warm nights and long hot days
For once can't you be here to stay?

This summer shall remain special to me
In my memory this summer will forever more be

No it wasn't a summer of love, loss, or mystery
But was a summer of realization
A summer of learning more about me

This Summer I asked questions about myself that I never did before
This summer I answered those questions honestly
Pondered many thoughts
And did so much more

This summer during the warm nights I looked up at the stars
And wondered if this lifestyle was for me

This summer I looked up at the stars
And was forced to answer honestly
If this was where I wanted to be

Oh summer even though I'll miss you so
A new season is around the corner
To Fall I must say hello

While I shall miss staring up at the stars
While the warm summer breeze plays with my hair
I won't mind the falling leaves or chilling air

While I'll miss being warmed by the sun's

In the well-written autobiographical narrative A Summer Life (1990), Gary Soto delivers an original assembly of aspects from himself as a six-year-old child. Soto asserts the scary realization of wants triumphing over what is ethical and he uses many examples of imagery, repetition and a chosen vocabulary to sketch out the ignorance that is evident in a child’s mind. Soto’s purpose is to selectively illuminate feelings of morals, paranoia and imagination that play a leading role in the lives of young children in order to adequately contain the audience’s attention and allow them to apply their own emotions. Given the excessive importance to detail and exquisite symbolism with angels, Soto is writing to a very diverse audience that has some sort of religious or spiritual background or knowledge and it seems he may even be reaching to engage parents’ opinions on the matter.…

In the direct, later on, indignant article “Endless Summer”, Rick Bragg reveals the transition from childhood to adulthood by using figurative language throughout the article. Bragg portrays that time last forever and summer is the same way. Summer feels so long to a child because they spend countless hours playing in the pool and staying out till dark. They wake up and repeat the same routine the following day. To Bragg, the transformation to an adult is very grim; because it means more responsibility. Jobs have priority and take up more time, leaving little to no free time to do the enjoyable things. Nevertheless, summertime as a kid is entertaining, but the memories will have to do because as adults, jobs take priorities in life.…

After watching a few commercials from this year’s Super Bowl Football game, the one that caught my eye the most was the 2012 Chevy Silverado Apocalypse. It was humorous, creative, and got the point across to the audience. Compared to the other commercials of this year’s Super Bowl those were the qualities that stuck out more so. The commercial effective with the way it played out and was well set up.…

Anna Quindlen wrote “School’s out for summer” to inform people about a problem we have in america and we do have a problem. Many people think as summer as a good thing no school, no waking up early, no more homework, but for some people summer is not the best thing for them some kids may not get to eat as much in the summer many kids eat lunch in school and even breakfast as it say in the text “fifteen million students get free or cut-rate lunches at school. And many of them get breakfast, too”. And that's just one of the problems.…

However, there’s something about me that you need to know: I love fall. Okay, I love spring, too. I love every season. Each has something to offer that I just can't live without, but I especially love Fall! It's the leaves. While all my neighbors are outside, “sweating to the oldies” to keep theirs picked up – I'm displaying mine like vintage wine.…

To understand the universality of human nature we can explore common traits and characteristics, many of which are prevalent in Jane Yolen's novel, Briar Rose. Yolen produces a very powerful and complex novel exploring the emotional aftermath of the Holocaust. Yolen has intertwined the facts of the Holocaust with the story of Briar Rose, a traditional fairy tale, in order to speak about the Holocaust without having to go into the historical detail of the experience. Yolen whose background is Jewish has previously written a novel detailing the Holocaust, uses Briar Rose as an extension of her work. Significant aspects of human nature that Yolen focuses on include the courage and heroism of the character Josef as he expresses the power of survival, the ability of Gemma to cope with her history and memories from the Holocaust and the journey of Becca to unravel the truth of her grandmothers past and therefore her identity.…

Walter Dean Myers poem “Summer” describes in short how the hot summer days are. This is the reason why I chose the poem. It brings me to a younger time in my life when it was less complicated. It was all about having fun. After reading the poem and the mention of “old men” in line 8 the perspective could be from a young person. It brings me to the thoughts of my summer days with my great uncles and their inability to do much during the heat of the day. Sweat is mentioned twice in the poem, so it can be assumed that this stands out in the memory of the writer though to mention that the first line starts as “ I like hot day, hot days” It comes with the territory and that is what I remember about…

The amount of missing aboriginal women in Canada is something that is not being recognized as the societal tragedy that it is. According to Amnesty International there are "more than 580 cases of missing and murdered Indigenous women in Canada, most within the last three decades. Because of gaps in police and government reporting, the actual numbers may be much higher" (Amnesty, 2014). Violence against aboriginal women is extremely high. "Aboriginal women are murdered at rates 5 and 10 times higher than those of non-aboriginal women" (Henslin, 2010,p.373).…

However, snow boarding, mountain climbing, mountain biking, hiking, and skiing are some of the activities people can enjoy when going to the mountains. Besides that, sun and fun are two words that describe the beach. The sea and the warm temperature determine the activities that are available at the beach. People can swim, play volleyball, play soccer, and ride water bikes. In most of the coastal sites, there are discos and restaurants where people can dance or party during the night.…
