What does it mean to be a revolutionary? A revolutionary is person who actively participates, or advocates revolution. Ernestno Che Guevara is an individuals who solely demonstrates the example of a true revolutionary. To some people Ernesto Guevara is an idolized man of the people, a freedom fighter for the downtrodden, who gave his life in the struggle to free people of the world to live in a “better” society; and to other he was seemed to be a killer who was willing to die to be a martyr for his cause. Che Guevara born in June 14, 1928 in Rosario Argentina. Che was described as a very dynamic and radical boy who enjoyed readings by Marx, Freud, and Engles. During this time Argentina has just gain their independence from Spain which was supposed to give the people a voice in their country, which was not the case. Which led him to want to help fight for people to be able to speak up and have some kind of say so in their government. At the age of twenty Guevara moved to Buenos Aires to care for his grandmother whom was very elderly and sick and soon late died. After the death of his grandmother he attend medical school, driven by his grandmother and his severe asthma.
In 1951, Guevara and his friend Alberto Granado began a journey traveling north commonly known as “the motorcycle diaries”; traveling to Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Venezuela. Then later returning back to Argentina after parting ways with Granado. After finishing medical school in 1953 Guevara set out on yet another journey experiencing many countries, then settling in Guatemala. While in Guatemala he spent time working in land reform under President Jacobo Arbenz. Here, Ernesto got the nickname “Che” and expression meaning “hey there”. In the process of the CIA overthrowing President Jacobo, Che' tried to join and brigade and fight, which lead him to taking refuge in the Argentine Embassy then safely escaping to Mexico.
