equality and diversity
Assignment unit 2 equality and diversity
In this assignment I will be looking into equality and diversity. I think it’s really important for people to be fair and equal I the society that we now live in because it has changed a lot since our grandparents grew up and their views have somewhat influenced our actions against diverse people in today’s society.
P1
There are many benefits of diversity first of all there is the education factor, I personally that people now have been brought up around diversity and are taught well within school, however there is still the older generation which are maybe uneducated and they are the ones who would usually make unethical comments and they would sometimes pass those thoughts and behaviours onto their off spring and the people they influence the most. Also the language barrier is decreasing because more foreign people are speaking English now, this make it easier in health and social care situations because we can communicate with those people, however there are still people who don’t speak English and there is becoming more and more support for those people whether it be a translator or the opportunity to learn English in night classes. Most people now are multi-linguistic.
There is also another benefit of diversity, and that is the fact that those people that are moving into our country are helping the economic situation by either working and paying taxes or spending money within our communities, this is vital to help us out of the current economic situation. Also a lot of people are coming in and doing the jobs that English people don’t really want to do for example, cleaning, building and working in factories this links in well with our economic situation because it is helping our economy.
Terminology:

I don’t think that many realize the benefits of being so diverse. Personally I love looking around and seeing the women and children form India with there long dresses and there heads covered. They embrace there culture and I think it is such a beautiful thing. At times I wonder what they think is so unique about our culture, and what it is like to be an American. One benefit that I have picked up is speaking another language. I was raised by a…

The one broadly classified under “observational techniques” which can utilise methods such as direct observation of people in a certain place at a certain time and the collation of data through a tick box method counting style or it could involve questionnaires whereby willing bystanders or passers-by are questioned and the results recorded. This sort of data collation can be undertaken by a number of individuals which spreads the base area from which the data can be collected. What is a diverse society? A diverse society is where people of different races and cultural backgrounds come together to form a community. In most thriving societies, the community members are diverse such as Australia, Singapore and Canada. In this essay, I will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of diversity that will affect the society in terms of cultural, economical and social development. A diverse society can contribute to the progress of the economic development of a country by creating an open mindset due to exposure to foreign ideas and people with different backgrounds and experiences, enabling the community to develop a broad-minded approach to life and business. The downside to this is people of different backgrounds may encounter friction during interaction, which may give rise to problems such as religious conflicts. Furthermore, there might also be communication issues between the people in the society, especially when they have language barriers…
