Entrepreneurial Leadership

Entrepreneurial leadership is a complex style of leading.   Individuals who practice this style are generally; driven, risk taker, aggressive and can recognize when change will give the advantage. I believe that Case, Kouze and Drucker are very similar in their belief that it takes passion, people and perseverance.   However they may differ in strategies at arriving at their goals.   They use the best of people to be able to deliver the services needed.   As noted in Drucker’s paper (Drucker, 1985) that Humboldt, founder of the University of Berlin set out to hire the leading scholars in every single discipline.   Kouze (2008) encourages the heart of people to be at their best, and Case (2010) employ people with a passion to do their best.   People who have a passion for what they do, focus on the here and now and move towards excellence and will accept nothing less than the best from themselves and their people.   According to Ayman Tarabishy’s paper Understanding Entrepreneurial Leadership in today’s Dynamic Markets, Tarabishy seems to combine, Case, Kouze and Drucker’s interpretations of Entrepreneurial leadership.   Tarabishy touches on the fact that entrepreneurs need to be competitive, creative,   and most of all have the ability to change.   We are living in the time of change, as leaders, we will need to perform and have the right people in place that can ultimately withstand change   (Tarabishy, 2003).   He also adds that today’s entrepreneurs need to be visionaries and develop a style of leadership in order to shape the cultures of their organizations.   In my opinion, the common elements described in the theories and philosophies of Case, Kouzes and Drucker relate to the new definition of entrepreneurial leadership presented in “Understanding Entrepreneurial Leadership in Today’s Dynamic Markets” in various ways.   To...
