Richard Branson is a “multi-faceted individual he has layered venture upon venture, going on from his initial success at marketing records by mail order to redefining the way music is marketed through Virgin Records and producing his own recording artists such edgy groups as The Sex Pistols and Culture Club.,” (Ferguson, 2010, p. A.7). He is an inspiration to me as he started his first venture when he was in his youth, per Heather Ferguson (2010), he was “a dyslexic student with poor performance in school, the 10 years-old Richard Branson embarked on his first business enterprise by thinking out of the box” (p. 1). He put action into his own innovations, ideas, he is an entrepreneurial visionary, a marketing guru, and has “become a “King Midas” of ideas” (Ferguson, 2010, p. 2). In Britain where he focuses much of his attention, Branson has managed to "Virginize" a very wide range of products and services. The variety of businesses he controls is as vast as the geographical coverage the brand has, with business located throughout The United Kingdom, the United States of America, Australia, Canada, Asian, Europe, and South Africa. •Virgin Atlantic - An international airline flying to many major destinations. •Virgin Megastores - Music Super-markets located in major locations in the UK, USA, and Australia. •Virgin Books - Publisher and distributor of books.
