There are as many types of power as there are people”
Is this true of the texts you have studied? In your response you should relate to your prescribed text (1984) and ONE related text.

Power can be defined as many types ranging from physical, psychological, love, status or government. With power comes great responsibility. If power is not controlled, negative consequences could be developed. This is noticeable through the 2 texts that have been analysed, George Orwell 1984 and Disney Pixar Film WALL E. In both these texts, countless types of power can be extracted whether it is being used for the good or bad. Power is Power, what you do with it is your decision. George Orwell novel is a social commentary of a dystopian future in which totalitarian rule of government has shaped society close to its full potential, leaving no rights and certainly no freedom of expression. The Disney Pixar Film WALL E is also another example of a dystopian future where the overdependence of robots on the space shuttle AXIOM results in negative consequences which then, with a lot of drama, result to become positive. By deconstructing George Orwell’s 1984 and text including the film WALL E the concept of power is manifested in many different ways as there are people. In this dystopian novel 1984, the use of power in the ways of psychological, technological, physical and love conveys the control and social dangers of totalitarianism and political authority. In other words Big Brother and the Inner Party.

The division between classes give Big Brother and the Inner party an advantage to rule over the Party and the Proles by inflicting fear on the society. Ways this can be seen is the section of the 2 minute hate. “People were leaping up and down in their places and shouting at the tops of their voices” through the use of emotive lang and visual imagery techniques, it convinces the reader about the effectiveness of brainwashing its own society to manipulate them to serve...
