English Learning Reflective Journal – Reading Newspaper

There are many ways to improve my English, for instance, watching English Channels or movies and reading more English books. But I think this is not enough. Therefore, I choose to learn more daily news instead of just watching a movie or reading a book. There is only one way to learn English and to know more about our society and global economy at the same time.

I think learning English is so hard. There is no doubt for saying that. But English is part of my life. Wherever I go, I have to speak in English even in my working location. So I swear I should improve my English skill by doing more things related to English, especially reading more English newspapers. Moreover, of course there must some difficult words that I am not able to know. For example in this news” Speed demon China supercomputer named world’s second-fastest” , I have learnt “theoretical” this word which mean supposed but not necessarily true. I think reading newspaper really can increase my vocabulary bank and use it in anytime such as writing and speaking.

In addition, reading newspaper can improve my screening skill when I doing the paper 1 reading exam, if I read more English article, I can easy to get what the passage talk about and then answer the question. Also, I have learned when writing a article, we should think a interesting heading and make use of each subject to attract reader to read, I hope this skill can help me improve my exam
