In this millennium, English is very essential all around the world. English is spoken as a first language by around 375 million and as a second language by around 375 million speakers in the world. According to an article by British Council, "One out of four of the world's population speak English to some level of competence; demand from the other three-quarters is increasing." In this essay, i will provide 2 reasons as to why students should focus on English as a subject in Malaysia. First of all, English is spoken as a first language by around 375 million and as a second language by around 375 million speakers in the world. It is an international language all around the world, especially for businessman or student .At any one time there are 130,000 students learning English and other skills through the medium of English in British Council teaching center worldwide . In my country, we are learning English from kindergarten and it is also a main language for required of job. Secondly, English is a very important tool of communication with other country. In example, when u travel in English-speaking countries who do not speak the language it is very difficult to communicate with each other n find a place to live, and even like shopping, if u don't understand the language u still cannot do anything. So, u not need to learn many kind of language just learn a main international language. In conclusion, English is more popular all around the world. We must start learning this common language when we are young. In my opinion, it is major advantages of learning English regardless of students or businessman. Learning any language can be difficult ,so you need use the right way to learning this language. One of the more efficiency way is commit to speaking English every day. In my country, it is quite important for learning English, which it is help us more easily to be successful on job or education.
