Iran
1. Ryan Fischman: President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad seems to always have trouble around, people who work with him even say he has a bad attitude towards things and can’t see why people vote for him; also has created a large deficit.
2. Joshua Gee: The European Union (EU) and the US have been trying to lower nuclear power production and create a disincentive for them to keep on trying to build it up.
3. Candi Fujisaki: Women in Iran have seen in increase of jobs within the workforce and have seen an improvement for educational rights.
4. Allison Gooch: Pressure is being put on former presidents Rafsanjani and Khatami to the point where they have been asked to leave office and their websites being taken down, they are being monitored by the government.
5. Sean Fitzpatrick: Khamenei and Ahmadinejad have had arguments lately over things that they think differently about Iran, for instance the president fired a close friend of the supreme leader in which he did not like; they each pick on each other.
Sweden
6. Kelven Harigyan: The social safety net of Sweden has attracted many immigrants in Sweden, as well as a lot of muslims, this has made the sweedish people not happy because they think poorly of the muslim people.
7. Kristina Huhn: Many of their environmental policies don’t just go straight to generating revenue, instead they help out the environment in some way which may mean going to reducing emissions or taxing people for using cars that cause more emissions.
8. Matina Katsiouleris: Sweden has 4 major banks that take up 80% of the market they get hit hard during the financial crisis, but because of the safety net that the Sweden has they have been able to become more stable.
9. Joe Hantos: Sweden was able to come out of its recession relatively fast because its government didn’t have to spend much money on a “stimulus” package like the US because it is built into their social safety net.
