Energy that is produced today is being used at extremely high amounts; this is a continuing reason for our pollution problems we face. It is very urgent we lower how much energy is being consumed, or at least use cleaner, safer methods for our environment of producing energy. Conserving energy is difficult to many people because it involves changing lifestyles. The overall benefits will help us save money, and make our environment better for the future generations.
There are two types of energy resources, nonrenewable and renewable. The nonrenewable comes from natural gas, oil, and coal. Natural gas, oil and coal on top of being nonrenewable, have many problems associated with these resources. One obvious problem is the fact they are nonrenewable, so there supply is limited and eventually will run out. Another problem with using these resources is it is very harmful to our environment because these resources release chemicals that pollute our land, water, and air. All of this is what our very existence here on earth depends on to survive.
Renewable energy is not harmful and will always be around. Some resources of renewable energy are solar power, energy produced from water, wind energy, and geothermal energy. All of these resources are available they just take industry and money to get made or people to begin and the overall expenses saved that we spend on energy now would be less. Oil, Natural gas and coal are useful, but at the rates they are being used is bringing us closer to running out, not to mention the horrible effects on our planet.
There is an extreme need for everyone to be educated, practice, and begin conserving energy. There are certain things an individual can do to protect our environment and begin conserving energy. Methods we can do to conserve energy start with getting involved in our community’s, sharing knowledge of our soon to be crisis.
