        Good morning Home Owners Association! Today I would like to address everyone about the importance of conserving energy. This is an issue that involves everyone present. The use of energy is an activity we all engage in twenty-four hours a day, whether we are awake or asleep. Everyday we depend on energy for enjoyment, transport, work, cooking and many other activities. Now energy is derive from two kinds of sources…Renewable and Non renewable.
Renewable energy can be produced from sources that are self-sustaining like; The Sun, The Wind and River streams. Non-renewable energy sources are not self-sustaining. Therefore when the non-renewable source is empty or depleted it will not provide more energy. Examples of Non-renewable sources are Petroleum, Coal and Natural Gas. Some of the energy we use from non-renewable resources is burned to produce energy. These methods create pollutants that are mixed with the oxygen we use to breath. These pollutants are known to be detrimental to humans and the environment   Now in all our daily activities the use of energy is involved. Therefore I can safely say that it is everyone’s responsibility to use energy wisely and efficiently. Some of the ways we can help conserve energy are:

• PROPERLY INSULATING AND VENTILATING HOMES-Weather stripping and caulking air leaks
• PURCHASING HIGH EFFICIENCY HOME APPLIANCES higher-quality products that produce less noise and last longer
• USE Fluorescent lighting- Replace incandescent light bulbs
• UNPLUG UNUSED APPLIANCE- REDUCE PHATOM POWER USE
