Scenario 1
Jennifer is a recent graduate that recently been hired in my accounting firm out of college. Upon being hired, she engages in a number of different behaviors that out of our expectation. The following steps will take to address the scenario involving skills, competence and abilities: 1. Collet evidence- Based on her department head’s feedback she is not able to manage the computer applications that are essential to her job responsibilities even after several months of training and support. Company needs to collet all types of materials that can prove Jennifer is unable to complete her tasks correctly and efficiently. 2. Job performance appraisal- Manager needs to conduct a job performance appraisal to evaluate her tasks performance, quality and time efficiency. Jennifer also can give her feedback on her perspective. The result should be shared and discussed with her alone. The purpose is to let her know that her job skill and knowledge is not meeting the company’s expectation. Showing the evidences that her manager doesn’t appreciate her as a good worker and genius. 3. Verbal warning- the job performance appraisal will result Jennifer a verbal warning. The verbal warning explains her what she is doing wrong and what is the company’s expectation on her. Jennifer will be informed the time of second the job performance appraisal and the consequences of fail the company’s expectation. In addition, company could offer her further training and support. 4. Written warning- Manager will issue a written warning to response to situation like failure to comply with a verbal warning and performance counseling. This letter will be reviewed HR representative.
