The Death of Emmett Till

"The Death of Emmett Till." History.com. A&E Television Networks, n.d. Web. 16 Nov. 2012. .

Emmett Till was a 14 year old African American from Chicago. Emmett visited Mississippi to see family and while he is there is murdered. It is said that four days earlier he flirted with a white woman not knowing she had a husband. The white woman's husband and her brother had tracked him down. They had made 14 year old Emmett carry a 75-pound cottin-gin fan to a bank called the Tallahatchie River. After arriving the husband and brother then beat him nearly to death and had him take his clothes off. They brutally ripped out his eye and then shot him in the head. After killing Emmett Till they then threw his body which was tied to the cotton-gin fan with barbed wire around his neck and disposed of his body into the Tallahatchie River.

This is a good source and reference for information on Emmett Till's murder. The information was not biased at all and was very objective. The facts were well documented but it got the point without getting off topic. The author is well qualified in this subject. This topic is well documente, its still very popular today. We still and can learn a lot about this subject and how it affects us today.

I don't understand why this ever had to go to this far. Emmett was only 14 years old and visiting family. He didn't go looking for trouble even though he did flirt with a white woman that was married. He shouldn't have had his life taken from him just because of what he did. This is mad insanity to the extreme! This source helps me understand everything clearly and the situation. This source is good and helps a lot. This helps me prepare for my JRP because it makes me understand how to locate good information.
