Most people around the world look at Eminem as a role model, but to me, he is just another rapper looking for fame and fortune. He seems like he doesn’t care what he talks about through his lyrics. The Marshall Mathers album should have never been written because it is a disgrace to the hip hop nation, has profane lyrics, violence, and is degradation of women. “Slut, you think I won't choke no whore til the vocal cords don't work in her throat no more?!” This set of lyrics from Kill You is very profane and violent. In 2000, Eminem had a performance in Toronto but Attorney General Jim Flaherty stopped him at the border because he was “disgusted” by his lyrics. Eminem cited that particular line on purpose to make a scene. Every song on this album has hatred towards someone or even something but he explains why he has so much hate in his veins. Eminem is just like many of the rappers in contemporary society who rap about sex, money, bitches and drugs. But does Eminem even care? That is a question only Eminem himself can answer. Looking at the Marshall Mathers album, scares me a little. It shows a dark side of Eminem’s life. There isn’t really any color on the album. It’s just black and white and it gives off some emotion towards the bad things. At the bottom of the album cover, there is a glass bottle and it shows how Eminem was always drinking and on drugs. It shows off a disappointing part in this album. “I sit back with this pack of Zig-Zags and this bag of this weed…” The first line from the song The Way I Am is pretty much self explanatory. Eminem smoked weed while recording this song because it kept him calm enough to finish the recording. After looking at this album cover, you know what to expect just by the color, the emotions and by how Eminem is just sitting there curled up in a ball.
