IMPLEMENTS AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS TO PREPARE ELECTROLYTE.

1. IMPLEMENTS.

The vessels to prepare electrolyte should be plastic, porcelain or stainless steel.

For preparing 60 liters of electrolyte you need the following things:

* 16.5 kg potassium hydroxide (KOH)
* 1 kg lithium hydroxide (LiOH)
* 60 liters of Distilled water
* Densimeter ( 1100 to 1300 g/cm³ range)

2. WAY OF PREPARATION

* Put 60 liters of distilled water in the vessel.
* Add slowly 1 kg potassium hydroxide.
* Keep stirring and add slowly the lithium hydroxide.
* It is recommended to leave that the solution rests for few minutes while it cools. * Finally, determine the density and adjust the value required, it should be from 1190 to 1200 g/cm³.

NOTE:
If you don’t have a vessel with capacity for 60 liters, you can use two vessels of 50 liters each one for preparing 30 liters separately.

3. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS.

* Use goggles to protect your eyes
* Protect your hands with rubber gloves
* Use plastic boots
* Use work clothes to protect your body and a gas mask to protect the wearer from inhaling “toxic gases”.

In case your skin is touched by this substance, wash it with 3% boric acid solution.

IMPLEMENTOS Y PRECAUCIONES DE SEGURIDAD PARA PREPARAR ELECTROLITO

1. IMPLEMENTOS.

Los vasos para preparar electrolito deben ser de porcelana de plástico o acero inoxidable.

Para preparar 300 litros de electrolito se necesita lo siguiente:

* 85 kg de hidróxido de potasio (KOH)
* 5.5 kg de hidróxido de litio (LiOH)
* 300 litros de agua destilada
* Densímetro (1100 a 1300 g / cm ³ rango)

2. MODO DE PREPARACIÓN

* Poner 300 litros de agua destilada en el recipiente.
* Agregue lentamente 25 kg de hidróxido de potasio.
* Mantener la agitación y añadir poco a poco el hidróxido de litio (5.5 kg). * Se recomienda dejar que la solución descansa entre 7 – 8 horas mientras se enfría....
