Electric Current and Portable Electricity
Electricity has had a huge impact on our lives since the day it was discovered. It has changed the way we do everything. Electricity is used today with everything, just think about how many things you use everyday that need electricity. Everything that being used in todays world is electricity from an iphone to the internet to a tv. There is a statement out there that says if all the worlds electricity was turned off for 24 hours the whole world would fall apart. This is true, for about 95% of everything people use involves electricity. Electricity literally powers the lives of today's society.

Most people would say that Benjamin Franklin discovered electricity but really he discovered the relationship between lighting and electricity. Otto Von Guericke discovered electricity in 1660 when he made the first electric generator. Joseph Henry would then invent the electric battery and would change the world. The very first portable electricity. People could power things they couldn't before. Moving forward Henry Ford would use electricity and the battery to make the first assembly line and the first car.

Electricity changed our lives culturally since 1831 when the telegraph was invented. From that very moment electricity changed the worlds communication. “It helped by letting people communicate faster and easier, it made lives of the people more convenient and helped out with military”(Power and history of Electricity). Electricity and the telegraph were the start of a revelation for communication and it changed the lives of people until this very day. This made communication much easier more millions of people in the world and is only the start!

Electricity affects our economy everyday. Try pumping gas without electricity, or running a cash register, or operating a store. It is an essential ingredient to our economy, nothing can be done without it. People wont be able to run business or be able to go to school. All of the nations security systems rely on
