People who resisted the rise of technology have long been left in the dust in order to make way for the rise of a more advanced populace. The mom and pop shop down the street is now getting customers from all over the world. This is one way the Internet effects businesses. When a company sets up a website and markets it properly, suddenly it is opening up a massive consumer base and the possibilities are endless. With the click of a button, they are able to network around the world.

The downside of this is that suddenly business becomes much more competitive. It can take time and money to ensure the company is at the top of the list when someone does a Google search on a product.
