In 2008 there were 1,200,000 Abortions that is really staggering. Partial birth abortion is a legal
option for woman in the U.S. and there are many reasons why women chose to have one. A few
reasons would be didn’t want it, it could hurt the baby or the mom, or rape.
It effects women mentally. They become depressed and try to comment suicide. The
mothers keep getting abortions after they get pregnant. Studies within the first few weeks after
the abortion have found that between 40 and 60 percent of women questioned report negative
reactions. Within 8 weeks after their abortions, 55% expressed guilt, 44% complained of
nervous disorders, 36% had experienced sleep disturbances, 31% had regrets about their
decision, and 11% had been prescribed psychotropic medicine by their family doctor. With every
abortion undertaken, the risk of not being able to conceive rises. As such the abortion procedure
is not detrimental in itself. What is deleterious is the effect the medications have on the body,
that are used before and after the abortion. Various infections can occur, which can further
damage the reproductive system, making it more difficult, if not impossible to conceive.

Deaths from abortions, although rare, are usually from heavy bleeding from complications with
anesthesia. Women who have abortions increase their risk of breast cancer by fifty percent,
according to a new study in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. Abortion of a first
pregnancy interrupts the natural growth process of the breast, leaving millions of cells at a high risk.
It has been found that future pregnancy failure is increased by forty-five percent with just one
previous abortion. Other complications are a greater risk of premature births, tubal pregnancy,
