BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
This study determined the Effectiveness of Peace and Order Programs of Barangay 121, District 1, Manila. It answered the demographic profile of the respondents with regards of age, gender, occupation and educational background. It determined the effectiveness of the occurrence of safety and protection problems in the barangay. This study is limited only to determine the effectiveness of peace and order programs in the safety and protection of the residents of Barangay 121, District 1, Manila, in October 21-26, 2011. Since this is the most convenient barangay for the group members due to its close distance from their residences and since one of our group mates lives here, we decided to pick this barangay out of 137 barangays in District 1. The barangay has a large population of 2603, where the computed sample sizes of 347 residents were arrived at as chosen respondents. A Self-constructed set of questionnaires was used in this duty. These questionnaires in closed-from format which consisted of the researchers gathered data were used to collect relevant information from the respondents. The first part of the questionnaire contains question regarding the profile of the respondents in terms of name (optional), age, gender, occupation and educational background. In the second part, the respondents, by putting check marks in the boxes were required to rate from very effective to less effective the Barangay Officials implement the Peace and Order Programs and in the third part they had to rate from Very Often Occuring down to Never Occurring the Safety and Protection Problems occur.
