Effective Study Habits
One of the most important necessities of effective studying is determining your learning style. There are several different learning types. Learn what works for you. Are you a Visual Learner? You can learn by observation. Are you an Auditory Learner? You can learn by listening . Are you a Kinesthetic Learner ? You can learn by touch and movement. We are all different, and learn in different ways . Identifying your specific learning style can help you determine how to best utilize online learning. The interaction and learning style will help you improve your study habits and be successful in an e-learning environment. (Brookfield: Jun 2008. Vol. 45 Iss. 6; pg.9) Ask yourself several questions to evaluate your study habits, such as; Did I make studying my priority, or did I merely fit it in when convenient? Consider your level of dedication. (A.Jarman, May 2009 Vol. 37, Iss. 9 pg 12, 2pgs ) Learn new strategies, such as changing your perspective. This will help you see things through a new window. Having a support team will also be beneficial. Think of people who can accommodate your needs. Usually a close friend, spouse or significant other, or even a fellow classmate are all good examples of support teams. Find new solutions that you have not tried before, they just might work. There are several self-motivation techniques such as, setting goals, seek opportunities, and keeping a journal just to mention a few. Facing your fears, will help you to overcome any anxieties. It will help you to knock down any barriers that may stand in your way. Recognizing your full potential, you share responsibility for developing good study habits.
