Abstract

    This paper reviews many aspects of effective management. It discusses the importance being an effective leader and the many benefits. As an effective leader it tends to reflect positively upon employees. The importance of communication is emphasized as one key point. Effective leadership will demonstrate improved employee satisfaction, commitment, and ultimately revenue for an organization.   Whereas, successful managers have little in common with effective leaders and often are promoted at a more rapid rate.

    What is a leader? This question is absolutely essential to understand. In a broad sense a leader is one that is committed and in a position to influence others towards the accomplishment of a common goal that has purpose.   A basic requirement of a leader would be that a leader directs by example as to motivate others. To achieve this goal the leader must have a strong commitment to achieve the goal. Another requirement for leadership is to have vision. As a leader one must set goals that are achievable. Once achievable goals are set they must then be inspiring to those involved to best motivate them.
