Effects on Same Sex School Does anyone think about what is same sex school? Why any students want to go there? Both single sex school and co-ed school have advantages and disadvantages. If we were parents, we would think that which school is better to let children go. Some of them do not care about the issue, but it may happen some problems to their children. In other word, if parents think about it carefully, their children will be successful. Going to same sex schools have had several positive effects on students life: increasing test score, gaining confidence, and decreasing drama. As a consequence of attending single sex schools, most students are able to raise much more confidence. In the school, there is less discriminatory, so a lot of students often raise their hands as well as possible. According to AAUW (American Association University Women), most girls often remark in their classes. Also, boys speak their opinion confidently without fear even though their answer is wrong. In other word, they are less peer pressure in same gender classes. It is remind me that when I was middle school student which is co-ed school, one time I really embarrassed in my class. For me, saying my opinion is very cool, but in fact the opinion was wrong, and suddenly some students especially girls started to whisper of course about me and stared me like I am stranger. Since I spoke in my class, I hardly say anything. If I were single sex school student, I would have more confidence to express my ideas a lot.
Entering same gender schools is one of the biggest effects that students get much higher score. According to NASSPE (National Association for single Sex Public Education), on the FCAT (Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test), same gender school students got 86% and 75% each gender.
