Re: Elective courses

As indicated in the curriculum enclosed in your Student Handbook, you are required to take two elective courses out of the three to be offered to meet the graduation requirements. For Chinese students, the three courses are Marketing in China (in Chinese), Competition Strategy (in Chinese), and Law and Economics (in English), while for international students the three options are China Interactive Touch, Business in China, and Law and Economics.   All the 6 courses carry an equal weight.

To make it easier for you to make a decision as to which courses to choose, descriptions of the courses are attached hereafter for your reference. Please note that as China Interactive Touch was already finished in August, if you took it, then you only need to take one more course out of the two indicated in the application form; if you didn’t, you’ll have to attend both courses. It should be also noted that for Competition Strategy, some extra charges, roughly RMB 1,500.00, may be incurred to cover such expenses like transportation, accommodation, etc.

The tentative schedules of the courses are as follows:

1. China Interactive Touch (already   finished)
  Time Schedule: Summer 2012 (Aug. 5-11)
2. Business in China (in English)
  Time schedule: Fall 2012 (Sept. 22, 23, Oct. 6, 7, 13, 14)
3. Competition Strategy (in Chinese)
  Time schedule: Spring 2013 (Mar. 30, 31)
4. Law and Economics (in English)
  Time Schedule: Summer 2013 (May 11, 12, 18, 19)
5. Marketing in China (in Chinese)
    Time schedule: Summer 2013 (Jun. 1, 2, 8, 9)


The above time schedules are subject to change.
