In ten years back when we talk about Eastern and Oriental, peoples tend to immediate link to E&O hotel. E&O is a name synonymous with timeless elegance and refinement. It inspired by the rich heritage and colonial style hotel which is 126 years old in Penang. A high brand name and continues to set new standards in style. Today, we will not limit our self on the name with the hotel, we know that E&O is expanding and growing, it has made a good result on their property development at Seri Tanjung Pinang.
Eastern and Oriental Berhad (E&O group) is a single listed entity on Bursa Malaysia. The E&O Group derives its name from Eastern and Oriental Hotel, a Penang heritage landmark which dates back to 1885, affirming their style, values and beliefs. The company is involved in three core business activities which are hospitality and lifestyle, property development and property investment. Eastern and Oriental Berhad corporate goals to create strong sustainable income in the long term, they believe that branding is critical for strong sustainable growth and the group has successfully identified niche markets and produced high quality innovative products. The objectives are to be positioned as a true luxury lifestyle developer from Malaysia; to emerge as a strong and credible brand which stands out and is inimitable in the market; gaining recognition among peers and competitors, lastly is strengthen E&O market position in regional and also international. In properties, the Company is engaged in development and investment in residential and commercial properties. Property development is the arm of E&O and it has a reputation as a premier property developer across Kuala Lumpur and Penang Island. Its track record includes Dua Residency, Seri Tanjung Pinang project and etc. In Hospitality, the Company is engaged in management and operations of hotels and restaurants. E&O undertook the refurbishment and upgrading of the heritage Eastern & Oriental Hotel as well as Lone Pine Hotel in late 1990s. Besides that in 2007, E&O embarked on the new food and beverage venture, via the acquisition of a substantial stake in The Delicious Group. In the property investment division’s core mandate is the acquisition of select landbanks and poperties that provides E&O with steady, recurring income flow and opportunities for capital appreciation in the long term. The Company's subsidiaries include E&O Property Development Berhad, Dynamic Degree Sdn. Bhd., E&O Developers Sdn. Bhd., Eastern & Oriental Hotel Sdn. Bhd., E&O Leisure Sdn. Bhd., Major Liberty Sdn. Bhd. and Matrix Promenade Sdn. Bhd. The principal activities of the Company were to provide, regulate and maintain facilities for conducting the business of a securities exchange in Malaysia. There are six objectives of study in E&O company
1.Understand E&O background, structure, operation and financial position 2.Applied the advanced knowledge accounting in the analysis for decision making -Compute and interpret financial to understanding of current financial condition, problems, and possibilities of E&O -Able to understand financial reporting which provide information to help present and potential investors and creditors in assessing the amounts, timing and uncertainty of prospective cash receipts from dividends or interest and the proceeds from the sales or loans. 3.Analyse non financial data in justifying the performance of E&O and for decision making -Provide information about economic resources of E&O, and the effects on of transactions -Provide information about technology adoption by E&O which will bring help the company growth -...
