Early Childhood Education

Studying to be In order to maintain a commitment to professionalism I have set the following goals for myself.
My first goal is to provide quality care and foster learning for the children in my care. I am respectful at all times and I model ways of being respectful towards everyone. I am patient, understanding, caring, nurturing and warm. These qualities are a must in order to be successful in reaching this goal. I have a sense of humor and the ability to remain calm is very important. I provide children with the tools they need to help them solve problems. I am able to be flexible and listen to what the children, parents, and co-workers have to say. I am always available and always on time. Enthusiasm and creativity abounds in everything that goes on in the classroom.

My second goal is to be an advocate for children and families. I do research on laws that I can talk about issues that concern our children.   Having a relationship and being able to communicate with parents effectively is a key factor. This allows me to stay informed about any concerns they might have. In being professional, I   achieve this goal by letting the parents know that I am available and willing to help them in any way   regarding the needs of their child, at the same time   keep all information confident.

My last goal is to continue my education and to get my CDA certification. Also, I have read, understand and follow the Code of Ethical Conduct Statement. I do this by making sure that I support children’s development and learning. I also achieve this by acknowledging that each child is an individual and by being up to date with their necessary information. I speak with parents and take the necessary steps to insure what is best for the child.   I try to learn as much as I can about each one of the families of the children in my care.
