Heavy metal contamination is a common problem in many places, and this affects not only the development of the cities but also the lives of the people, due to its harmful implications. For instance, if ever aquifers are contaminated and water is distributed to the people, it will most certainly affect their health as well as their livelihood. At present, phytoremediation, a biological method of separation in treating heavy metal contaminated soil. This study examined the potential of Dwarf santan (ixora coccinea) as a phytoremediation agent on lead (II) contaminated soil. Experimental design was used, utilizing three setups with three replicates each and one control. Every setup was added with an increasing concentration of lead nitrate solution. In setup A containing 335.00 ppm while setup B which is containing 485.00 ppm and for setup C containing 635.00 ppm of lead nitrate solution. Dwarf santan (ixora coccinea) were planted to each three setups and allowed to grow and be observed and analyzed after thirty days of phytoremediating process. After thirty days, soil samples were analyzed using AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrometer). Lead concentrations in plants were also examined. It was found out that there was a decrease of concentration of lead in soil. The percentage of lead absorbed increased as the concentration of lead in soil increased.
