Bibliography 7. Appendix 1. Introduction Travelling around Singapore using efficient public transport networks of taxis, buses and mass rapid transport are affordable and convenient. However, according to the statistics census population office, 51.4% of the population travel by public transport and the remaining 41.6% use private transport. The usage of public transport has been decreasing over the years, which is a worrying issue as Singapore’s contribution to green house emission is increasing. The aim of our project is to increase the awareness of the cost involved in using public transport and private transport. In our project, we have chosen two places to calculate the cost involved while using by public transport and car. The two places are Changi airport and IMM building. We will be comparing whether medium of transport depends on the amount of distance travelled. The selection of car was based on recent Singapore market research conducted by Frost & Sullivan as the most famous models used by Singaporeans. From the research it was revealed Toyota-Corolla, Nissan-Sunny, Honda-Civic and Mitsubishi Lancer GLX are the most famous car models in Singapore.
