Drinking Ticket Paper
The Worst night Ever

It was a long, full day of work and I was ready to get back to the dorm to relax and have some fun, after all, it was my best friends birthday. We decided to go out for his birthday dinner for him and have a few drinks before we headed out. We had music cranking, we were singing and having a good end of the week party. Drinks began passing around and we took a turn for the worst, an RA outside our door smelled alcohol. Immediately the RA told us to open up to see what was going on, as if he didn’t already know, he too is a college student. So we all knew we had been caught so we let him come in to give us our punishments and go on with our soon to be sober lives. But as he walked in the room, cops decided to take a peak at what was going on. The RA told us he was upset with the cops “randomly showing up” but I didn’t believe him, and I still don’t. The cops made the RA walk us to the sinks with our pride and joy and dump it all down the drain. He was surprised as to how cooperative we were and almost let us off the hook for a violation, but realized we were income for him. So he got the breathalyzer out, skipped our rights and handed all of us drinking tickets like he’d done many times before. I have never been so upset in my life; so mad I started punching my bed and pillow. What I thought was going to be the peak of my week turned out to go down the drain just like my Wild Turkey 101. Looking back at it now, I don’t feel like it has impacted me as bad as I thought it was going to. Yes, my bank account is feeling the pain, but my hands have finally stopped hurting. I have gotten a lawyer who told me to do 24 hours of community service and take a drinking class by my court date. Not too bad, the punishment could be much worse. The drinking ticket hasn’t stopped me from going out, but it has stopped me from drinking. Since then I haven’t had a sip of alcohol at school and I actually enjoy it, watching other people do dumb stuff is just as

    The Dangers of Speeding

I will never ever speed again. Speeding cost way too much time and aggravation to continue speeding. This ticket has made me realize that all speeding does is put me and other people in danger and waste a lot of gas. And in these economic times wasting gas isn’t the best idea. I am unemployed and I’ve been trying to get a job to pay for this ticket so my parents wouldn’t have to. This is good because now I know that speeding is just wrong. I can drive 45 in a 45 and some one could be doing 60 and catch a red light and I’ll be there right next to him, sure he got there faster but I didn’t waste five dollars in gas just to catch a red light. Statistics show that if the speed limit is 65 and you go 75 it will get you to your destination 10 minutes faster but you also increase your risk of accident by 25%. Honestly I don’t want to risk an accident over 10 minutes of time. It’s pointless.…

“First DUI conviction can cause your license to be invalidated for up to 2 years. Revocation of your license can also cause you to lose your job, especially if it requires you to drive. Finding someone to drive you all the time is very challenging. You may likewise arrive late for work habitually, feel disappointed, and be less mindful when you at last arrived. Your work conduct may endure, as well.”…

There are many different views towards the topic of whether or not ones driver’s license should be permanently revoked for their first alcohol-related offense. My personal viewpoint towards this controversial and ongoing debate in our society is that a person should have more than one chance with regards to these offences. People under the age of twenty one who are involved in alcohol-related offences are not properly educated to the effects this substance has on the mind and body. Also, first time offenders, no matter their age, are not aware of the consequences their actions carry. Finally, if the offender has the disease of alcoholism there are programs to help them recover.…

My first thought when I was told that students were drunk was “how am I going to tell Mrs. Davis and not have my peers hate me because I ruined their night.” They could face disciplinary actions through the school or even legal actions. At that time, all I did was send a direct message to Mrs. Davis on Twitter that said: “The water guns are filled with alcohol.” I decided that my integrity and my responsibility to the school were more important to me than my classmates’ thoughts. I doubted that she saw my message right away but in the event that she didn’t see it, I decided at half time to find her and make her aware of what was going on. Once I talked to her, I felt accomplished. I knew that I had made the right decision.…

In 2013 I decided to change my life around; I had gotten a job as a dishwasher/ prep cook and even went back to school for my grade 11 at Sir Robert Borden High School. At the time I thought I was just getting my life back on track but really I was slowly going back downhill towards the bad friends and drugs. (Note: I haven’t done any other drugs besides marijuana which I’m proud of) During the first semester I was searched exactly every day for 23 days in the first month of September because of my history in Holy Trinity, which was selling marijuana. The best part about it was that I didn’t bring that to school anymore and had been leaving it at home for my own personal use. I still yet had another problem on my hands; I would not attend my classes. I had missed almost every class in the first semester except for my first two weeks there.…

Violating the schools alcohol policy can also put you on probation. Privileges may be taken away from you like having visitors. It limits your freedom and just turns out to be a negative experience overall. There are many steps I can take as an individual to make sure this doesn’t happen again. For one, I can politely ask anyone in my room to leave that may have alcohol on them or in their system. Also I can inform an R.A. to make sure the person is safe and doesn’t harm himself or someone else. Also, I can make a pledge with my friends to avoid alcohol and drugs. Also I will never get in a car with someone who has been drinking. Instead I’ll call a taxi or a parent. Also I’ll convince anyone that I think has a drinking problem to seek help. I’ll ask them to talk to someone that can help like a counselor. I understand the policies of the…
