Dream Paper
Africa is the home of my ancestors, and a place I would love to visit. It’s the motherland to civilization, everyone in one way or another has ties that go back to Africa. Instead of animals locked up in a zoo, Africa is their natural habitat. It’s a beautiful place that would be such an adventure to go and explore. My dream is to go live in Africa, explore for the great wild life, and visit some historical sites that Africa has to offer. I would take this trip in 2 different phases that lasted at least two months long. This is phase one of my 2 phased “Dream Trip”. I want to go to Africa and see what it would be like to live the life that my ancestors lived. I want to experience everything they would have. The only way to do this is to spend time with a native African tribe, maybe even live with them. I would be 100% open to this, it would be such a great experience for me. I want to live free of standardized testing, consistent competition and live a life of peace and prosperity in my homeland of Africa. My first adventure or objective on my dream trip to Africa would me finding a tribe that would be accepting of me joining them for awhile. Attempting to live as they would, without modern technology, any of my friends or any norms that I’ve been used to living here in the states would be a serious challenge for me. I suppose in the wild I would have to rely on myself or my tribe for common necessities such as food, water, etc. This could propose a serious problem for me because I’ve been so used to the great abundance of food and water here in America. I think I could get through this but it definitely would be a challenge for me. This phase of my dream trip I think should last at least a month, if I got comfortable with it and enjoyed it maybe longer! Phase 2 would be exploring the great wildlife that lives within the motherland of Africa. Nowhere in the world is there such a place such as Africa. Walking through the plains you may encounter a wild

Paul Fussell once said, “All the pathos and irony of leaving one’s youth behind is thus implicit in every joyous moment of travel: one knows that the first joy can never be recovered, and the wise traveler learns not to repeat successes, but tries new places all the time.” Going around the world would be a fascinating goal for the future. Meeting new people and getting to grasp what the world is like . Traveling would be interesting to do in the future because first I can challenging myself, second the adventures, and third to appreciate life.…

For me, participating in the Experience El Salvador program would be an unforgettable opportunity. I have always loved to give back to the world and others in any way that I can. About a year and a half ago, there was a Christian children’s choir that visited and performed at my church. This choir in particular consisted of children who had been saved from horrifying living conditions in third world countries and were given the opportunity to have better lives and travel the world singing about their love for God. Words cannot even describe how much I was deeply touched to hear the stories of where many of these children came from and how some were even on the verge of death. The testimonials of how God brought them through those difficult times were indescribably powerful. I have always known that I want to travel…

    Sleep Reflection Paper

My survey had eight questions that pertained to sleep. The results I gathered gave me answers to the average night’s sleep on a week day, the importance of sleep to people, if people feel they are getting enough sleep, and the factors that prevent sleep. When I first created the survey, I expected the answers to reflect that most people sleep a healthy amount of time (despite busy schedules). What I found out through my survey of thirty people was the majority of people were in fact getting enough sleep. Eighteen people were getting seven to eight hours of sleep on a week day which is a healthy amount. Around ten people were averaging about six hours of sleep, which is not considered a healthy amount, and only two people surveyed said they averaged four and a half to five hours of sleep (very unhealthy). Another interesting fact I found was the importance of sleep to people compared to other tasks such as work or school. I figured that everyone would rate it a five, especially the people who got less sleep because they lack it. But shockingly most people rated it a three compared to other tasks. Still, there was also many who rated it four and five but I was shocked that the majority was not four or five. The funniest statistic that I found was that people were perfectly even on if they felt they were getting enough sleep. I also asked if people took naps and most people said yes or sometimes which means at least some people are compensating for their lack of a good night of sleep.…
