Dream or Nightmare?
It harms human bodies and makes people sick. It destroys our surrounding environment and causes much pollution. It slows the pace of social development. You would think that something as destructive as this would not be tolerated in our society. You should think about that people have the basic common sense not to let something like this happen. Sarcastically, people from all over the world have become addicted to this. It is junk food. Something that was once a dream has now become a nightmare; people however still keep on eating every day. Junk food should be banned in B.C. schools since it does harm to human beings, environment and social development. There is no doubt that junk food has appeared in our daily life for more than several decades. However, it still becomes more and more popular. We must ban the appearance of junk food in schools because of the harmful effect to students and teachers. According to researches, there are 46 million people eating McDonalds every day. What’s more is that 400,000 people in America are getting sick because of a poor diet. As a result of this fact, obesity becomes an increasingly serious problem in our society. In addition, junk food may reduce intelligence which means your memory will be worse if you have unhealthy food every day. Schools teach nutrition knowledge as part of the curriculum. Ironically, they sell junk food in the school canteen because they need to make a profit. The more junk food you eat, the more potential dangers you have. Secondly, we need to make sure that junk food is restricted to improve our environment. Our need for junk food has made it one of the sources of pollution. The advertisements of fast foods can be seen everywhere anytime which means a bunch of paper, posters, and cards is wasted.
