I never really had an answer when grown-ups asked me what I wanted to be when I was little. Did I want to be a Veterinarian? Maybe, animals are awesome. Teacher? I’d rather just learn. Astronaut? Only if they make space food tastier. Now I’m about to be one of many so-called “grown-ups” and I finally have the answer. I want to help people. I will help people. I am going to be a social worker.…
Everyone is asked one question, at a very young age. That question is: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” There isn’t a time I can remember when an adult didn’t ask me this question. When I was six, I would respond with the usual movie star, fashion designer, or veterinarian. My answer would be said confidently, as at this age I walked through life as if it were no big deal. My answer occasionally changed to fit with my many childhood phases, but my view on the question stayed the same. When I was a child, I replied to this inquiry the same way everyone else did; I answered with an occupation. It took me years to discover my new approach to this question. My new response did not include my dream job, but how I saw myself in the future.…
Growing up people always ask the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Most children answer firefighter, ballerina, or in my caseload a fashion designer; however not all children may get the chance to follow their dreams, for example children with autism.…
In the real world, people search for jobs that will give them personal satisfaction, along with a good paycheck. Unfortunately, we all are not lucky enough to get the jobs that we want, so we have to settle for what is available at the time. I mean, how many people really dreamed of being like Calvin, and working at McDonalds, or who really had aspirations of laboring at the local Shell station? This is not always the case, a lot of people actually decide what they want to be, then actually accomplish their career goals. Most people, when searching for a career, usually pick something that they would enjoy, rather than something that they hate to do, but pays well.…
Ever since I was little, the same question has been asked to me, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” When I was at the age of four the answer might have been an astronaut or a football player but times have changed. As time progressed it changed to an architect, then to a police officer, and all different types of jobs as I got to college I really started to think about what I want to do. It ranged very much. I wanted to study criminal justice and become a police officer. Then wanted to start my own restaurant. But now I believe my dream occupation after all these years would have to be an athletic director.…
Everyone’s goals change over time. When you were younger you dreamed of being a princess, a ballerina, or a firefighter, but as you grow older you realize that your fairytale life is not real. You then understand that you have to work really hard for what you want, and in my case I had the extra motivation to do so. I…
Considering the effects of advertising on consumers, there are a few risks that advertisers take in placing advertisements on MySpace. One risk taken, Advertisers may try to minimize information about the product. Now that means the consumers or people on MySpace that see this ad, are not getting the full run down on information that they need to distinguish whether or not the product is a need to them or not. Another risk on advertising on MySpace is to modify the nature of the communication media where it is shown. For instance on MySpace, when they advertise a new movie, they like to re-design the background so that it grabs your attention. Now the bad side to this is that, when you make an annoying background, people aren’t going to sit there and want to look at it. The frustration of the mixed colors and things moving all over your screen is a turn off to most people from my experience. What kind of people or personalities might companies try to appeal to by advertising on MySpace? Well that’s a pretty easy question to answer, Teenagers. If you have noticed on MySpace, it’s not advertisements of a new movie, its more than likely advertisements of music artists. For example, I have recently checked out the main home page of MySpace and all you see over it is a bunch of Rap Stars, Pop Stars, and Hip Hop artists. Most of the artists they are advertising are the famous ones such as Akon, Justin Timberlake, and Ludicrous. These are names of most of the top music brands that Teenagers in high school are listening to at the time being. You very rarely see advertisements for adults on MySpace because it’s more run by the lower and upper teens over populating it. Not saying that there aren’t any adults on there but, most are teens on MySpace and it’s a really big area to advertise if you want to get their attention. Most big Movie Businesses and Music Labels have already started advertising there big movies and song artists. The MySpace environment, will it make it…
Over the past few decades, people have drastically changed the way they choose their career. Times have changed a great deal, and people no longer feel forced into a certain profession. People are now given endless choices and possibilities, and it is up to them to decide what they want to do the rest of their lives. When facing these important decisions, it is very easy to become confused. I once was very uncertain about any career goals I may have had, but now, I am more sure of the direction my life is going.…
Each of us have something different in mind when trying to make life goals for ourselves. Some of us think money, some think power, some think a job they love. Me, I think of a family, i've loved kids since I was a kid. I’ve valued a family most of all throughout life, and i've looked forward to the day I get to start my own family my entire life. To have a family, I want to be committed to them and be there through the most important moments of their lives.…
Human Resource Management (HRM) has never been as significant as it is today. Companies want to attract, retain and motivate brains to meet objectives. Today Humans are regarded as one of every company’s assets so they need to be efficiently and effectively managed. One of the tools companies use to attract, retain and motivate its people is Compensation Management. In this hub, I shall define compensation and benefits along with their advantages for a company and its workers. My dream job will be Compensation Manager in HR department. Compensation managers plan, direct, and coordinate how and how much an organization pays its employees. Benefits managers do the same for retirement plans, health insurance, and other benefits an organization offers its employees.…
What was your career goal as a child? Usually children have endless imaginations and believe in themselves enough to want an extravagant or very highly trained and well paid career. I was not a child who wanted to be an astronaut or a circus performer; I was a child who wanted to help children. I wanted to be a pediatrician. A pediatrician is a children's doctor who provides medical care to patients from birth up to 21 years of age. They can help with infections, injuries, behavioral difficulties, developmental disorders, and many more medical and mental problems. They can give children with life threatening diseases a better outlook on life. Making a difference in children’s lives is the reason that even as a child, I wanted to grow up to help children.…
You won’t come to Apple unless you’re really good at what you do. The reason you’re here, the reason you’re hired, because you’re the top of the field or you have the potential to be the top of the field.…
Most of the time, what a child wants to be when they grow up changes several times over the course of their life, before they finally settle on a job, that either is or isn’t what they really had wanted, or planned on. This is not the case with me. I have wanted to be a hairstylist and own my own hair salon since I was a little girl. My dream started because I wanted to be like my dad, who has his own barber shop, but the reasons have changed since I’ve became a woman. My reasons for wanting to be a hairstylist with my own salon now are; I’m passionate about making people feel good about themselves physically and boosting their self-confidence, I’m very creative and I love to make my own hairstyles and keep up with the latest fashions, it’s a very lucrative profession with a lot of exciting opportunities, and I would love to be my own boss.…
Lots of people find it hard to answer the question what do you want to do for a living. In addition, many dream that one day their hobby would constitute a big part of their occupation. I have always been good at languages and for me it is a pleasure to study one, not an obligation. But I believe that languages need to be practiced otherwise one will forget them. That is why I would like to work in a company where I need to speak many languages or at least one foreign. Also, I like different cultures and I think that working in a multinational company that has branches all over the world would be the most suitable place for me. Also, I consider myself a creative person, who likes dynamic and fast paced environment. That is the reason why being in the field of Marketing has always been my dream. Working in such field seems very easy, but in fact Marketing and PR, not to mention planning, are activities that are very demanding – working on a tight deadline, being prepared for the unexpected things, being extremely concentrated, paying attention to every single detail and working fast, are just some of the things that a marketing person should be able to do.…
answer. I want to work at home. I`m sure there are plenty of people that would agree…
