Frederick Banting was accepted at the University of Toronto in 1911 where he studied theology during his first year. According to dictionary.com Theology is the study of God’s attributes and relations to the universe. But a childhood experience made him realize that his passion was to become a doctor. His intense studying and research, where he dedicated his time to were all worth it. I chose Frederick Banting as a leader because he greatly demonstrates what a true leader should be. I am also interested in pursuing a career in medicine. When I was young, I had been interested on becoming a lawyer. As I got older, I started to realize that there are so many unsolved mysteries in science. Like Sir Banting, I want to make history and save millions of people. Context

Sir Frederick Banting was born on November 14, 1891 to William Banting and Margaret Banting (Gale). He was the youngest of the five children in the Banting family, and they lived on a farm in Ontario. When he was young, he and his brothers were expected to do farm chores. Born a doctor, whenever a farm animal died Frederick and his brothers “were in charge of studying the specifics of what killed the animal so it could be prevented from happening again” (Gale). He went to a public school from his elementary to high school years. When he was young, one of his classmates died from diabetes. This vivid scene from the past stayed with Banting throughout his life.
