Chapter 1
THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
INTRODUCTION
A system is a set of interacting or interdependent components forming an integrated whole or a set of elements (often called ‘components’) and relationships which are different from relationships of the set or its elements to other elements or set. Every system is delineated by its spatial and temporal boundaries, surrounded and influenced by its environment, described by its structure and purpose and expressed in its functioning. The term online (also styled as "on-line") have specific meaning in regard to computer technology and telecommunications. Though common vernacular refers specifically to an Internet connection, the general definition of "online" simply indicates a state of connectivity. The concept have however been extended from their computing and telecommunication meanings into the area of human interaction and conversation.

The internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that use the standard Internet protocol suite (TCP/IP) to link several billion devices worldwide. It is a home medium as of this days and anyone can have it at home.

Grading in education is the process of applying standardized measurements of varying levels of achievement in a course. Grades can be assigned as letters (generally A-F), as a range (for example 1 to 6), as a percentage of a total number of questions answered correctly, or as a number out of a possible total (for example out of 20 or 100). In some countries, all grades from all current classes are averaged to create a grade point average (GPA) for the marking period. The GPA is calculated by taking the number of grade points a student earned in a given period of time of middle school, high school and also college level. The GPA can be used by potential employers or educational institutions to assess and compare applicants. A Cumulative Grade Point Average is a calculation of the average of all of a student's grades for all of his or her complete education career.

Online Viewing of Grade System is very essential in a school. In the case of
Mabalacat City College, it is composed of a manual system in terms of posting and viewing grades. Professors, instructors and deans used manual system in giving student’s information about their grades. In fact, they do all the grade information giving by means of their written records on their class sheet and students must see them if they want to know about their grades, and how their grades doing.

Above our observation, human interventions will highly involve in this type of system. As a result, this may cause hassle in human particularly in all students.

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Viewing of grades is a basic step for students and a must done procedure to be able to know what is your grade and how your grades doing. As of our expectations Viewing of grades is just a fast doing step in which you will only want to see a particular part of your grade and leave.
But contrary to the expectations of the students, viewing of grade is a posed problem and hassle; it has become tedious because of growing student’s population.
The unsystematic procedure of school during viewing of grade is now dreaded by them. During in every ending of the semester and students must get and see their grades, students have to stand and wait of finishing it in an approximately of 30 minutes to 1 hour sometimes students are made to come back the next day, just to get their grades. All these have posed a problem which alarm this group of researchers and decided to pursue in resolving the viewing of grade problem by designing and implementing a system viewing of grade which is computerized for smooth and less problematic flow of viewing of grade for Mabalacat City College.

OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the study is to create an online viewing of final grade system for the students of Mabalacat City College.
Specifically, the study sought to attain the following objectives.
1. To design and develop a system that is online viewing of grades with :
a) A more interactive way of posting grades with their class specifically the instructors.
b) Students can make an account providing their password and username to be able to get and see their grades. 2. To design and develop a system that provides a) An accurate information with the student’s grades.
b) Student to view their grades online with an interactive design.

Scope and Limitation
This study involves viewing of grades in Mabalacat City College. The system will post the grades of the students with their accounts and the instructors and deans will be the ones who will post the students grades. Students will be able to create an account for them to see their grades and instructors and deans have also their accounts for them to post the grades.

This study is to construct and develop a viewing of grades in Mabalacat City College with a more interactive way of posting student’s grade with specifically the departments and instructors they can make an account providing their password and username to be able to get and see their grades. Accurate information will be also provided with this system about student’s grade and also students can view and get their grades with an interactive design, it will be only a read only grading system and not an uploading and downloading system with the student that will use this system. Students can only interact providing with their account only, students cannot change, delete and add grades with this system and only the personnel that has power can be the one who can change delete and add something with posting matters.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
In conducting this study, the researcher believes that ….
To the Students
To provide a system where in they can view their grades with an efficient and more hassle-free kind of viewing of grades. They can view their grades without any kind of line they wait.
To the Researchers
They can also interact, update and develop the system with them as the creator of the system. With the said on the user’s significance they can also make an account leading them to get and see their grades.
To the future researchers
They can get a glimpse of ideas with our research and use it as a guide for their research.
