Just once wouldn't you love for someone to simply show you the evidence for God's existence? No arm-twisting. No statements of, "You just have to believe." Well, here is an attempt to honestly offer some of the reasons which suggest that God exists.
But first bear this in your mind. When it comes to the possibility of God's existence, the Bible says that there are people who have seen plenty evidences, but they have covered up the truth about God. On the other hand, for those who want to know God if He is there, he says, "You will seek me and find me; when you seek me with all your heart, I will be found by you.
Scientists are convinced that our universe began with one enormous explosion of energy and light, which we now call the Big Bang. This was the singular start to everything that exists: the beginning of the universe, the start of space, and even the initial start of time itself.
Astrophysicist Robert Jastrow, a self-described agnostic, stated, "The seed of everything that has happened in the Universe was planted in that first instant; every star, every planet and every living creature in the Universe came into being as a result of events that were set in motion in the moment of the cosmic explosion...The Universe flashed into being, and we cannot find out what caused that to happen."9
Steven Weinberg, a Nobel laureate in Physics, said at the moment of this explosion, "the universe was about a hundred thousand million degrees Centigrade...and the universe was filled with light."10
The universe has not always existed. It had a start...what caused that? Scientists have no explanation for the sudden explosion of light and matter. Look throughout the major world religions and you'll find that Buddha, Muhammad, Confucius and Moses all identified themselves as teachers or prophets. None of them ever claimed to be equal to God. Amazingly, Jesus did. That is what sets Jesus apart from all the others. He said God exists and you're looking at him. Though he

How did the Universe come to be? There are many theories on how the universe began, but the most common and scientific is the Big Bang theory. Georges Lemaitre is said to be the first person to formulate the Big Bang theory in 1927. Lemaitre gathered information and ideas from scientists Albert Einstein, and Alexander Friedman to create…

The most accepted theory is the Big Bang – a cosmic explosion that caused the world to exist. Before the Big Bang there had been nothing except an amount of matter that was smaller than the eye of a needle. The explosion caused this to expand and thus; our Universe was created. Scientists believe that it is still expanding, and will one day stop, and begin to contract. They have also found slight ripples of cosmic radiation to prove this.…

Cosmology is the branch of study in relation to the origin and nature of the universe (Farlex, 2012). The thoughts and opinions on how the universe began over the years was one of spiritual and scientific. Through beliefs of the Bible and followers of the faith it is believed that God created the universe and everything in it. From a scientific view it is believed that the universe was created by The Big Bang. Throughout time many astronomers and scientists pushed the envelope to prove that the universe was not created by God but instead created by one force in space that over time has further developed what is on Earth and out in the universe. Most of the scientists and astronomers back in time were followers of the religion and almost had their own beliefs lead them into the wrong direction. It was not until such people as Galileo, Copernicus, and Sir Isaac Newtown that further proved The Big Bang Theory caused the creation of the universe.…

The existence of God is one of the greatly talked about philosophical topics throughout history. There have been many arguments proposed in order to answer the question. One argument is the ontological argument. The first person to propose the ontological argument is St. Anselm in the eleventh century. St. Anselm tries to prove the existence God from the idea of a being that which no greater being can be imagined. St. Anselm contemplated that, if such a being did not exist, then a more superior being can be thought of to…

In the beginning there was nothing-no time to describe ‘when’ or no space to fill matter in. From this void sprung our universe when time and space came into existence as one entity. Despite its name the big bang theory isn’t really a theory about a bang at all. It is really only a theory about the aftermath of a bang (Allen Guth). The Big Bang theory is widely accepted by modern scientists, some however still doubt its validity. The Big bang theory relies mainly upon the explanation and proof of the following four discoveries ( For the purpose of this essay I will only be discussing the first 3 events):…

    Cosmological Argument

This cause, proponents of Cosmological argument claim, is God. This argument rests on the fact that all beings or events have some cause. The only exception to this rule is God, who must have existed for an infinite amount of time or been created from nothing. The main criticism of this argument is that it requires that every being has a cause, but it follows that God cannot have a cause. It is very hard to imagine a being that has no cause because it is in human nature to believe there is a cause for everything…

The question of “Does God exist,” is a question that many people have tried to answer throughout many centuries. Although the answer to whether He exist or not is unsolved and most likely never will be solved, the answer to whether we can prove that he exists is a relatively easy one to answer. The answer is simply, no. We cannot prove whether He exist, but on the other hand no scientist or philosopher has ever been able to prove that He does not exist. Although the answer is quite simple, we can explore the several arguments for and against His existence.…

I personally have never seen proof of Gods existence or non existence. I have sat pondering the question does he exist or not, while watching a beautiful sunrise. Attended bible school as a child and Sunday services as an adult. I've heard many arguments for both sides, but these do not constitute as proof. I have read a large portion of the bible but I know that it was actually written by the hand of man, and man as we know are famous for making mistakes. One of my favorite movies is the Ten Commandments. Even though all of this can cause doubt, I find myself on a fairly regular basis praying for friends, strangers I've never meet and occasionally myself. The question remains does God exist or did we just happen by accident on this large ball of gas that developed into what we like to call home. Well it is my personal opinion that both are right. I believe that a higher power must be at work to have created such a vast universe which our planet is just a speck in. I agree with science that evolution holds the answers to how life evolved on earth. Does God intervene in our lives? Does he answer prayers? Do miscalls relay happen? I don't know the answers to these questions, but I believe a lot of people need faith to help them face many trials and obstacles they are face with in life. If I am wrong and God does not exist and it turns out faith is just a coping mechanism, I can think of a lot worse ways to deal with life's…

God definitely does exist. As a child curious about the world I once questioned the existence of God. In my heart I always knew God was real. But after being fooled by the myth of the Easter bunny and Santa clause, and finding out that grownups were pretty extraordinary liars. I wasn’t as sure anymore whether god was really real or just another myth made up by the extremely deceiving grownup mind. Months went by, and I still had not yet answered the question that bothered my curious little heart.…

The theory predicts that the universe could be expanding from an initially condensed state, a process known as the big bang. For a number of years the big bang theory was contested by an alternative known as the steady state theory, based on the concept of the continuous creation of matter throughout the universe. Later knowledge gained about the universe, however, has strongly supported the big bang theory as against its competitors. Such findings either were predicted by or did not conflict with relativity theory, thus also further supporting the theory. Perhaps the most critical piece of evidence was the discovery, in 1965, of what is called background radiation. This "sea" of electromagnetic radiation fills the universe at a temperature of about 2.7K (2.7 ºC above absolute zero, which denotes complete lack of energy). Background radiation had been proposed by general relativity as the remaining trace of an early, hot phase of the universe following the big bang. The observed cosmic abundance of helium (20 to 30 percent by weight) is also a required result of the big-bang conditions predicted by relativity…

God never asks us to believe, without giving sufficient evidence upon which to base our faith. His existence, His character, the truthfulness of His word, are all established by testimony that appeals to our reason; and this testimony is abundant. Yet God has never removed the possibility of doubt. Our faith must rest upon evidence, not demonstration. Those who wish to doubt will have opportunity; while those who really desire to know the truth will find plenty of evidence on which to rest their faith.…

There are many theories proving and disproving God, but truthfully, none of them actually show evidence that God is real. People lose faith in God when life takes a right instead of turning left. The fact whether God exist should not play a large role in people’s lives. In order to live a just life, one must live life through the morals that God has sent down to us. Proving God to be real is an impossible feat, but living life the way he wants us to is quite simple, and evil is just apart of human nature.…
