Instructions for converting Word documents to PDF files
and combining the files into one document.
These instructions have been written to be used in the submission of HSC internal grant programs to the Sponsored Programs Proposal Upload System.
II. Convert word documents into Adobe Acrobat PDF format 1. Convert to PDF format – Windows-PC
A. in MS Word using Distiller (Acrobat 5.0) B. in MS Word using Distiller (Acrobat 4.0, 4.05) C. with Distiller using the Print Command in WordPerfect (Windows) 2. Convert to PDF format - Macintosh
A. using Distiller (Mac OS 7.6.1or later)
III. Editing an already converted PDF file
IV. Insert proposed research plan or other PDF documents into the Coversheet Form V. Electronic Submission of final document
1. Each of the items requested should be combined and submitted as one PDF file. Applicants must have a full version of Adobe Acrobat writer to convert Word documents to .pdf. 2. Instructions are available for Windows and Macintosh for converting Word documents to PDF. 3. 1. Start Microsoft Word and open the file you want to convert into PDF 2. If you want to change Distiller settings choose Acrobat > Change Conversion Settings >Print 3. Choose Acrobat > Convert to Adobe PDF or click the Convert to Adobe PDF icon on the Microsoft application toolbar 4. Save PDF file As dialog box appears. Name file and click Save...
