Youth Programs provide ways for young people to become engaged in environmental restoration, teamwork and personal development. Youth (ages 15-18) will work in an eight-person crew to complete a variety of projects. Youth will also spend time in training, learning about the environment and enjoying recreation opportunities. Conservation Corps Minnesota provides two options for youth to get involved, the eight-week residential Summer Youth Program and the after-school Youth Outdoors program. Both are exciting and rewarding, as you and your crew pitch in to help the environment.

Youth Outdoors
Youth Outdoors is about youth becoming community leaders and taking action on environmental issues. As a Youth Outdoors corpsmember, you'll spend 12 hours a week ― after school Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays ― for 12 weeks accomplishing conservation and community work. You'll also participate in environmental education, leadership and recreation activities each week. In return you will gain valuable experience and earn money. This isn't the typical classroom setting but a hands-on experience that is exciting and rewarding!

You should apply if you...
  • Are 15-18 years old
  • Live in St. Paul, in a household at or below 80% the median income
  • Want to have positive impact on your community
  • Want to work outdoors and learn about the environment
  • Want to meet new people and try new things
  • Want leadership and teamwork experience
  • Are willing to give and receive positive feedback
  • Are available Tuesdays 3:30-6:00, Thursdays 3:30-7:00pm, and Saturdays 8:00am-3:30pm
  • Want to earn money for working hard and having fun!
